Between the mountain and the sea at Dhërmi

Dhërmi sits on the Albanian Riviera in the municipality of Himarë, where the Ceraunian mountains drop to the Ionian below the Llogara pass. Drymades, its beach, is one of the long ones, with the old village on the hillside above. Square Village is laid out on the slope behind the beach as a cluster of low buildings around courtyards and lanes rather than as one block: planted roof terraces, stone walls, a central square with a pool and a bar, a restaurant, and a tennis court in the grounds, with parking underground. Vlorë and Sarandë are each a drive along the coast road; Tirana's airport is to the north.
